Halton JAZZ Choir’ music director & singers had the unique opportunity to participate 3 days of workshops offered by the NEW YORK VOICES SINGERS “Artist in Residence” program at Humber College Lakeshore Campus! HJC music director Darcea Hiltz, attended Monday Q & A with NYV. Tuesday afternoon Darcea observed a masterclass with clinician/ NYV singer Peter Eldridge as he coached 6 of Humber College Jazz studies student vocalists.
Halton JAZZ Singers bumped up their ‘fine harmonic 4 part tuning’ and are grateful for their workshop time spent on Wednesday morning with Humber music students, vocal jazz participants from the GTA & instruction led by NEW YORK VOICES singers, Kim Nazarian (soprano), Lauren Kinahan (alto), Darmon Meader (tenor) and Peter Eldgride (bass-baritone). These Humber College Music Faculty sponsored NYV session’s finale was a concert with NYV & Humber College Studio band on Wednesday evening!
THANK YOU HUMBER COLLEGE & NEW YORK VOICES – what an inspiring 3 days of vocal jazz!
Sounds like this was an inspirational experience!
